THE TOURS
From the log cabins of coastal fishermen
to luxurious city mansions, our insider tours to India, Peru and
Sri Lanka give you first-hand experience of the countries.
Authenticity: Our tours are not
typical sightseeing excursions, instead we bring together travelers
and country in a way that is beneficial to both. With our insider
connections, you'll have the unusual opportunity to share meals
with local people, visit their homes, and immerse yourself in
their life and cultures.
Community projects: Our tours are
based around a series of community-managed projects. By working
with these projects, we are able to support the livelihoods of
the people who need it – whether tribal reserves in India
or wetland conservation in Sri Lanka.
Relaxing: By getting off the tourist track, your holiday
will be truly relaxing. You can unwind in the midst of stunning
scenery, whilst absorbing the atmosphere and generosity of local
people. We’ll guide you when you need guidance and leave
you in peace, when you need peace.
Child friendly: We are parents ourselves
and love taking families with children on our trips. Our tours
are arranged to be child-friendly.
Folk music, fishing and forest walks:
We’ll take things at your pace, and arrange itineraries based
on your preferences. Among other things, there'll be the chance
for traditional fishing, forest walks, bonfires, cycling, river
baths, sun bathing, yoga and massage, shopping, cooking and lots
of relaxing.
Village homes to luxurious mansions:
You'll have the chance to stay in luxurious mansions, traditional
mud huts, tents in the forests, homely guest houses, stunning
beach villas, and as guests in village homes. Accommodation is
selected to suit your needs.
Wonderful food: Your hosts will
prepare delicious home-cooked food and fresh fruits. Much of the
fruit and vegetables are grown locally.
Train, bus and boat: We provide
cars, but also take you on trains, buses, boats, horses, bicycles
and taxis.
Customized to meet your needs: Although
based around specific community-based projects, our tours are
customized to meet your preferences and pace.
Quality and authenticity: We don't
churn people on and off coaches, and our prices reflect the quality
of the experience you will encounter, our use of skilled local
guides, a highly personalized service, and the support we give
to local projects (see ‘advocacy’)
